To study the adaptational characteristics of photosynthetic apparatus, especially photophosphory-lation in regulation of the dynamic connections between various partial reactions of photosynthesis during the changes in plant physiological state and its environment conditions.

Studies on the Regulation of Photosynthetic Apparatus, Especially Photophosphory-lation and its Application
Analyzing the mechanisms and applications of photosynthetic apparatus, especially photophosphorylation in photosynthesis. It utilizes the electropotential produced in the primay light reaction and proton gradient across the thylakoid membrane formed simultaneously with the photosynthetic electron transport to synthesize ATP, which affords energy for carbon assimilation and many other processes. Photophosphorylation is not only the important component of assimilatory power, but also the main regulatory factor in change the dynamics structure of thylakoid membrane and connection various protein complexes in it. It was demonstrated in our lab that ATP supply is often the limiting factor in photosynthesis. Our research showed that enhancing photophosphorylation could increase the photosynthesis for several days by improving the coupling efficiency of ATP synthase with various treatments or by stimulating cyclic photophosphorylation through spraying low concentration HSO3- solution. The latter measure was demonstratively applied and checked in rice production of Jiangxi province; and we consulted with "Hangzhou Zotec Chemical Industry Co., LTD" for the commercial production of HSO3- solution.
