The cell nucleus, which contains the bulk of the genetic and epigenetic information of the cell, is an important and complex organelle. Recent progress in live-cell imaging opens a door towards understanding how the various subnuclear structures contribute to precise functioning of the genome and epigenome in living cells. We aim to identify and characterize essential plant subnuclear domains through advanced live-cell deconvolution or confocal microscopy in conjunction with genetic, molecular and biochemical approaches. Our studies contribute to how gene expression machinery is spatio-temporally coordinated in cell nuclei of a living organism.
